Show Rules & Regulations
This show is sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association and the 2024 ADGA rules shall govern.
The JR/SR Combined show will be first followed by the Junior Show. Combined Doe Show and Junior Show are separately sanctioned for the following breeds: Alpine, Lamancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, Oberhasli, Recorded Grade, and AOP-Saanen/Sable/Toggenburg/Guernsey.
Entries must be received by August 26, 2024. Advance entry fee is $6.00 per animal.
Late entry fee after August 26th is $10.00 per animal. Day of show substitutions must be at the secretary’s table by 9:00am. Advance notice of any changes is greatly appreciated. Make checks payable to Melissa Ferguson. Paypal (friends/family)- mfergie07@hotmail.com

Address: Blandford Fairgrounds 10 North St. Blandford, MA 01008. Animals must be on the fairgrounds and checked in by 9:00 AM, Monday. Showmanship will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. Classes close once judging begins. There will be no pre-show milk out.
All registration papers will be checked at sign in. Proof of registration will be accepted as per ADGA rules. Registration papers must be presented on all animals six (6) months or older. Animals under six (6) months old may be shown in an ADGA show with a stamped duplicate application showing date of receipt in the ADGA office. A stamped duplicated is only valid for 30 days from the date ADGA issues. No copies, faxes, or phone calls will be accepted in the place of above. Proof of ownership will be the name on the registration or recordation papers.
Base Date for computing ages (both for goats and youth showman) is September 2, 2024.
Make sure all tattoos are clear and legible. ADGA Grand Champions or Best of breed winners must stay to compete for Best of Show or forfeit its leg. The Judge’s decision will be final. The show committee reserves the right to interpret or amend the rules as necessary. All animals entered at the sole risk of the owner. The Union Agricultural Society of Blandford cannot be held responsible for loss, damage or accident to any person, animal or property while on the Fairgrounds. Animals must remain on the fairgrounds until 5:00 p.m., or end of show, whichever is later. This is predominantly a “Trailer Show”. A limited number of pens are available on a first-come first-serve basis.
Exhibitors must provide their own feed and bedding. Health Regulations: All animals must be listed on a current health certificate. 2024 Massachusetts health regulations apply. Any animals with pinkeye, sore mouth, abscesses, etc., may be asked to leave with a forfeiture of entry fees. All goats originating TB accredited free Brucellosis classified free state may enter the state of MA without testing.
